This wasn't a random sampling of families. Each family had been cherry-picked, although of course they didn't know that yet. There in the room, cramped together, it was unclear why any of them had been picked over others who had been left behind. The room was painted bright white, and there were no windows. Old and young were jumbled together, slumped against the walls or sitting on the tiled floor. Although it was a large room, it was packed to what seemed like more than it's capacity, and with no seats, tempers were beginning to fray. Tag Chelle to write next.
